“Archiving the Patani Queers / Queering the Patani Archive: A Visual Map” is a digital collage based from my ongoing research for my Master’s thesis. The project situates itself at the intersection of history, auto-ethnography, and a curated exhibition through words. It examines the erasure of Queer Muslim women from Patani’s historiography, tracing queer movements in Islamic Southeast Asia through contemporary texts, historical documents, literature, films, and art installations. By using collage-as-method, the personal and found archival material float freely on the canvas. The materials interact with each other, creating connections but also frictions across time and space.

This collage has been exhibited as part of Southeast Asian Queer Cultural Festival 2.0 for both its online and offline traveling exhibition.
